Description

The Traditional Vietnamese Gold-gilded Lacquer Cabinets were originally made in the Northern parts of Vietnam. They are constructed entirely out of 100% natural Jack-fruit wood, which must be selected carefully by talented hand-craftsmen.
After selecting the wood, the next step would be processing it to ensure that the dry wood are free from termites, and to eliminate warping and shrinking problems.
The artisans must then use hand-carving and hand-crafting tools to cut and put together a base form of how the cabinet would then turn out.
After this process is handled, they then proceed on their next task – gold plating/ gilding.
Gold plating/gilding is a decorative technique of pasting a very thin layer of gold leaf , also known as litmus gold , on the surface of wooden/ stone or metal objects.
